"Did Jesus Just Happen" (The Life of Christ)
As we are discussing the Judgment Seat of Christ, the question is ask by many, what will be the rewards that a Christian will receive?
Scripture uses the figure of crowns. That would be meaningful to those Greeks because they thought of the crown that the Olympic contestants wore, made out of oak leaves or laurel leaves. We find in the Book of Revelation that when we as believers are given a crown at the Judgment Seat of Christ, we are not going to put it on our heads and walk up and down the mains streets of glory to measure crowns to see who got the biggest. The Apostle John tell us that the four and twenty elders took their crowns and placed them at the feet of Jesus.. As the hymn writer put it. "Upon the crystal pavement down at Jesus' pierced feet, joyful I'll cast my golden crown, and His dear name repeat. Crowns are not given us for our possession, but to be placed before the Lord as a thanks-offering.
The think which Christians should be concerned, is that when they see Jesus face to face and stand before Him in Judgment, the fruits of their lives will be found acceptable to Him so that they can have something to put before Him as a Thank-offering for all that He has done for us.
