"Did Jesus Just Happen" The Life of Christ

As we continue on the subject matter of the Judgments of Christ, there are those who picture this as a judgment to which every believer is subjected at the time of his death, to see whether he is permitted to enter heaven or not. We must realize immediately hat this interpretation could have no place in this passage, for the Apostle is speaking of those who have already received their eternal habitation, that is, the new glorified body. They have already experienced death swallowed up by life. They have received the earnest of the Spirit. They are already absent from the body and present with the Lord. This is a scene that takes place, not outside some supposed pearly gate to see whether we are permitted to pass through, but this is a scene after the believer has been resurrected, translated and we have to eliminate, according to Scripture, that popular but erroneous and false conception that there will be a judgment to see whether we will be permitted to enter into heaven or not.

The only judgment to which a believer will ever have been subjected is the Judgement on the Cross. we as sinners were judged in the person of Christ. Christ has borne the sinners judgment and there need not be any examination to see whether a child of God is permitted into glory because the presence of the Holy Spirit in that believers is the believers guarantee he will enter heaven. The righteousness of Christ given to that believer is the believers right to enter heaven without judgement or examination.

Next week, will deal with another erroneous view of the Judgment of Christ.
