God is a divine book keeper and has been keeping an unchangeable record down through the annals of time. The Bible says "the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books." Verse 13 of Revelation 20, "they were judged according to their works." We see that a record of the We see that a record of the works of sinful man is being kept and there is an accurate record and detailed account of the life of the unsaved man.
The question is who is to be resurrected at the great white throne? Unbelievers are life in the grave, in that state of death, until they are resurrected at the great white throne judgment. John says in revelation 20:12, "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged out of those things which were written."

According to the Scriptures in Revelation 20: 12, this is the picture of the resurrection of the wicked dead. In order to understand what John is talking about when he says, "I saw the dead stand before God", we need to outline the program of resurrection. In John 5:27, "the Lord Jesus says that the Father hath given Him, that is the Son, authority to execute judgment, also because He is the son of Man." He is speaking of the universality of resurrection.

" But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night' which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up." Now here is a description of the dissolution of this present heaven and present earth. They will be consumed by the fervent heat that will melt the elements.
