Our United Methodist Men's group meets at Centennial UMC on the third Monday of each month to join in fellowship and discuss worship, praise and evangelical opportunities in the community. Suggested meal donation is $5 and starts at 7:00pm with a short program afterwards, followed by meeting business. This is a community wide program and all are welcome to attend and participate. Bailey Family Band
We gathered in fellowship with friends and family on this special evening in December to praise and reflect on the gifts of our Lord. Country songs and hymns were sung by the Bailey Family band who lead us in worship. No business was attended to at this meeting, but we look forward to having our guests again and please invite more to come join us for our meeting in the new year.

The members enjoyed a family meal this evening along with the comedic story tellings of Cousin Arthur. Laughs were had and thanks was given for a terrific Thanksgiving meal that was cooked by Bob and his family. It was a great opportunity for us to share the evening with family and friends, and all are invited to our next meal in December to celebrate the Christmas season.

Hurricane Michael Relief
Our United Methodist Men's meeting was cancelled this month due to Hurricane Michael and outages in the area. However, our coats and jackets were collected and donated to Spring Creek Baptist Church in Donalsonville, GA to help with relief efforts. We collected over 40 jackets and nearly half were taken by the time our members left Donalsonville.

Neil presented to us this evening a program detailing the works and faith of the Gideons in both national and international missions. He spoke about his time serving with the Gideons, the unbelievable amount of Bibles that have been distributed throughout the world and gave local examples of their efforts here in Grady county.

Cairo Drug Court
Tonight we listened to the testimony of a particpant of the Cairo Drug Court. Centennial UMC's own Mary Brown works in the program to rehabilitate persons as an alternative to going to jail. The participant spoke of his plea to God, and how meeting God saved his life and has kept him drug free.

The Plath Family
We'd like to thank The Plath Family band for performing wonderful songs for us this evening. Old favorites and new songs alike were played on a variety of instruments by these talented young people. For more information on The Plath Family, you can visit their website at http://theplathfamily.com. We closed our new business by adding a new Coat and Jacket Drive for our community project. Coats will be collected for the next few months, and we will hold a give away this fall. We are also collecting socks for the VA Hospital in Lake City.

We joined in fellowship this evening to enjoy the singing of Rev. Wayne McDonald. This was our first family meeting, where our families were welcomed to join us for a great dinner and program. Our business meeting was held afterwards and Bob Bacon made a motion to set up a community Food Pantry for the needy. Billy Butler offered to build and donate the pantry box, which will be located in front of the church.

We were presented a wonderful testimony through music and singing this evening by Tom Taylor and Gary Asbell. With twenty one in attendance we enjoyed a great meal and offered prayers for church members and others in the community.

David Carver | Kairos Ministry
At our April 16th meeting we heard from David Carver who is involved in the Kairos ministry. He offered a testimony of his work with the Kairos ministry and spoke of its life-changing effect on both the team and the inmates. The group enjoyed his performance of music and song which he wrote. He passed out Kairos materials which consisted of many different ways to contribute to the mission. Doug Majors | Testimony and Singing
We were inspired on this evening when Doug Majors gave his testimony of faith and sung for us. Doug was involved in a car accident years ago and was pinned under a truck. He spoke about the rescue and how his faith helped him through his recovery.
